Registration And Pre-Op Information For Your Cats
- Take all food away after 10 p.m. the night before surgery. May have water through the night.
- Cats must weigh a minimum of 3˝ to 4 lbs.
- Males must have both testicles descended into the scrotum before making appointment.
- All cats six years and older will need to be spayed or neutered at a full service veterinary hospital due to complications that could occur with older pets.
- Males must have both testicles descended into the scrotum before making appointment.
- We will schedule only two animals per person per designated surgery day.
- One animal only in secured carrier / basket.
- Carriers must be at least 13in. high, 13 in. wide, 22in. long
- All carriers must be clean inside and out with an old clean bath towel inside.
- Label carrier with your last name and name of cat.
- Do not bring cats in cardboard boxes.
- Two rectangle laundry baskets taped together may be used in place of a carrier.
- Feral, stray or outdoor cats need to be trapped or brought inside 1-2 days before scheduled surgery date. Otherwise, they tend to ‘disappear’
- Do NOT attempt to transfer ‘Hav-a-Heart’ trapped cats into a carrier. Cover trap with small blanket or large towel and bring to clinic. Bring clean carrier also (as per above instructions) for cat to be placed in after surgery.
- NO CHECKS OR CREDIT CARDS are accepted at this time. Cash for surgeries are to be paid the morning of registration. Additional charges for pest treatment or an unexpected pregnancy, etc. are to be paid that evening at pick-up.
- Check-in time is between 8:00-8:30am. Because everyone is given this same time, we register on a first come, first served basis. Please realize we usually only have one person registering approximately twenty or more animals for the day. We will do our best to get you on your way as quickly as possible but plan to have at least a small wait time.
- Pick-up time is between 5:30-6:00pm on the same day. We are not a full service clinic therefore we do not have overnight hospitalization or boarding facilities. As mentioned above because everyone else will be arriving at the same time you could experience a small wait time.
- A Post Op (Dogs) & (Cats) information sheet will be explained and given at time of pick-up. The same copy of instructions is posted on our website for your convenience.
- Canceling appointments require 48 hour notice. Anyone failing to give proper notice will be subject to prepay at the time of rescheduling.
